The health, safety and wellbeing of guests, customers and employees staying, visiting or working at the Petwood Hotel is of paramount importance. While the risk is low, we recognise the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is worrying and that you may have some concerns about your stay or visit. We are monitoring the daily developments and following all the relevant Public Health England advice and your health and well-being is our number one priority.
We would like to offer you our reassurances in that we working hard to ensure that your stay with us is safe.
What are the symptoms of Coronavirus?
Public Health England states that the most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of a new continuous cough and/or high temperature. If you have these symptoms, however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for 14 days from when your symptoms started. If you are in a family setting, you and your family should all self-isolate.
You do not need to call NHS 111 to go into self-isolation. If your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better after 14 days, contact NHS 111 online. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999

What is the Petwood Hotel doing to combat the risk of infection?
The safety of our guests and visitors is of paramount importance. All of our staff have been briefed on the available advice and we are reviewing the situation on a daily basis.
We have taken a number of extra steps to ensure a safe and healthy environment within the hotel. These include:
- Increased hygiene practices around the hotel in public areas and guest bedrooms -
- We are asking guests to support us by taking as much care over their own hygiene and regular handwashing to minimise any exposure -
- Where ever possible, working from home has been introduced -
- If a member of staff has recently travelled or is showing at risk of COOVID-19, they are being sent home to self-isolate for 14 days in accordance with Government health advice. -
- Team members are being advised to not shake hands and avoid personal contact with other team members and guests -
All touch points are being cleaned frequently during the day (hourly or less) this includes door push plates/handles, light switches, tables, menus, toilet flushes, product bottles, lift buttons, locker buttons, hand rails, hairdryers and shower buttons. -
- Touch screens, equipment, phones, computers, tills, and card machines are being be disinfected/sanitised on a frequent basis -
- We encourage guests to pay by card whenever possible to avoid the exchange of dirty cash -
- Salt and pepper mills have been removed from tables and given to guests on request -
How can I protect myself from Covid 19 (Coronavirus)?
Wash your hands every hour with soap and water, especially after coughing and sneezing and before handling and/or consuming food
Use disposable tissues when coughing or sneezing and dispose of used tissues carefully and promptly in bins provided
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
Avoid close contact with people who appear unwell and avoid sharing personal items
Public Health England (PHE) recommends against using masks outside clinical settings. Should you decide to use a mask, you should ensure you continue to use all the recommended precautions in order to minimise the risk of transmission
Should I cancel my booking?
The Petwood Hotel is operating as normal and you can continue to enjoy your holiday as planned. Normal terms and conditions apply for any amendments or cancellations. Please contact us to discuss your options, including moving your booking to a later date. Any cases of cancellation due to “Disinclination to travel” will be subject to our full cancellation policy.

What will happen if there is an outbreak at the hotel?
If there is an outbreak at the Petwood Hotel we will follow advice from Public Health England. Please comply with any additional screening measures that are put in place. If you develop symptoms, however mild, please follow the government advice.
If you live with someone who has developed a cough or high temperature, you should isolate yourself at home for 14 days even if you are unwell yourself.
What will happen if the Petwood Hotel has to close
