An Evening with Dave Hands from the Hawker Typhoon Restoration Project
Our popular series of evening events continues with a fantastic and information talk from Dave Hands of the Hawker Typhoon restoration project.
Dave Hands has been with the Hawker Typhoon project since it went public in 2016 and is now the events manager for the preservation group. His family connection with the Typhoon is through his father who was an engine test engineer with Napier, flying a modified Warwick out of Luton equipped with the Sabre powerplant. He has a history in aviation that stretches back to childhood with his father being Chief flying instructor at the London Gliding Club. Daves previous flying roles have covered being in the British Gliding Team, an instructor, power pilot out of Shoreham , Sheep farming microlite pilot in Australia and balloon flying in the Cotswolds. He considers his greatest achievement in flying to having his take offs and landings as equal in number!
