The first of our evening aviation talks takes place on Wednesday 4th March in the Petwood Suite here at the Petwood Hotel when Simon Devenish of the John Gillespie Magee Jr Foundation will be talking about the life and poetry of John Magee, the author of the famous poem ‘High Flight’.
We are also incredibly proud to welcome Squadron Leader Mark Discombe, Officer Commanding of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight to the event who will be talking about the challenges of flying a wartime spitfire. It will be a unique opportunity to hear two fascinating talks and there will be a Q&A session at the end of the evening.
On the evening there will also be the opportunity to meet Roger Cole, the author of the definitive biography of John Magee and to purchase copies of his book.
