Fantastic StaffThe staff were fantastic, helpful, polite and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were spacious and you didn't feel cramped. The food was exquisite, tasty, well cooked, imaginative and something to look forward to each mealtime. The building was lovely to look at in its Tudor style.I cannot praise Petwood Hotel enough.
Afternoon TeaMy wife had a gift voucher for afternoon tea, from my Son’s girlfriend for her last birthday. We went to use it this Saturday and had our afternoon tea outside with our dog, Muffin. The food and service was superb, only topped by the stunning venue. The selection was spot on and each ‘course’ was fresh and tasty.
Perfect wedding stayWe chose The Petwood for our wedding, with 30 guests. The event was a great success. We found staff well organised and very efficient, and they gave us exceptional, friendly and personal service and support, thinking of everything. If anything was needed on the day, they responded quickly.
Lunch was greatWe popped in for lunch and to have a look round to see the officers mess for 617 Dambusters Squadron. We were made very welcome - the Lincolnshire Sausages were fantastic. The place has been kept as is and the 40's feel is very evident. You must visit the Squadron Bar. It's now a shrine to the Dambusters and very interesting. Must go back and stay sometime.
Perfect WeddingOur wedding went perfectly and without a hitch, and I know it was down to Janet and the team working away in the background. My sister even wants Janet for her wedding (and she isn't even engaged yet). So thank you so much to the team for all the time and effort put in!
Wedding Venue ExcellenceI was fortunate to spend the day and night at this excellent hotel due to my daughter choosing it as her wedding venue. The service that the wedding party received was second to none. All of the staff went out of their way to make it a beautiful and very memorable occasion. The staff were friendly and helpful. The wedding meal and buffet was delicious.
Wonderful historyThe food was excellent but I'd have to say that the historical memorabilia relating to the hotel was the overall highlight. Loved its connection with the war and the Dambusters, and how this is commemorated, especially in the former officers' mess/museum.
Fascinating historyWe stayed for 3.nights midweek offer, which was very good value. We had twin beds which were larger than normal sized single beds. The room was large and spacious. My husband said the full English breakfast was excellent. Staff were very helpful. We also booked the house tour which was very informative.
What a wonderful findWe happened upon the Petwood by chance and are very glad we did. We loved its history, especially in relation to the 2nd World War and the Dambusters squadron, and the way in which the hotel commemorated this through its use of memorabilia. The former officers' mess was a fascinating mini museum.
Amazing historyIncredible building with amazing history not least the 'Dambusters' 617 Squadron headquarters during World war 2 it's one of the only places you can see a Barnes Wallace Bouncing bomb, the grounds are beautiful as is the architecture. Stunning
