KEEPING YOU SAFE
Changes to Coronavirus Legislation
What the new laws mean for your visit
Several new laws come into effect today, Thursday 24th September 2020.
Table service is mandatory in hospitality businesses and is applicable to both inside and outside tables. We have been doing this since reopening on the 4th July and so you may already be familiar with this. The tightened rules mean that guests cannot approach the bar for service or leave their tables other than to use the washroom facilities or when leaving the premises. This also includes mingling with other tables or guests.
Where previously it was a recommended procedure, we are now legally obliged to collect your details for the government’s test and trace programme. This is done in GDPR compliance through our bedroom reservation system and table booking system. Please book your table via our website (www.petwood.co.uk) prior to your visit. Unfortunately, we are unable to welcome any guest or visitor who does not provide their contact details or if we suspect the information provided to be false. For users of the Test and Trace app, the QR code is at the main entrance of the hotel for you to scan. Please note you still need to give your details via our table booking system.
It is now law that we must close at 10pm. Last orders for food will strictly be at 8.45pm and last orders for drinks will be 9.30pm. All customers will need to have vacated the Restaurant and Bar by 10pm. If you wish to take drinks back to your room, please talk to a member of the team who will be able to help you.
Face coverings must be worn unless eating or drinking. Guests and visitors will be asked to wear their face coverings in the hotel unless in their bedrooms or at their tables. If you have a medical exemption, please let us know on entering the premises or clearly display your lanyard/badge. All Petwood team members will also be wearing face coverings in public areas of the hotel unless they too have an exemption. We politely ask all guests and visitors to be mindful that some people may have exemptions and to please be respectful of this.
The Rule of 6 means that we can only accept bookings of up to 6 people (including children). We cannot accept a booking of over 6 people or multiple bookings from a single party. When in your group, please stay socially distanced from other parties and do not get up and meet other groups. Please remain at your table unless needing to use the facilities, go outside or leave the venue – and in every scenario please wear a face covering.
We understand that these rules may change the atmosphere and ambiance of the Petwood that we all know and love. However, please appreciate that these are enforceable laws from the government and we need to adhere to them as part of our ‘Covid secure’ status. We have also updated our Coronavirus Policy on our website with further detail which you can view here.
We want to thank each and every one of you who has supported us in these challenging times, and we hope we can continue to give you all the Petwood experience that you all know and love. With your help and co-operation, we can still enjoy all the things we have missed during lockdown.
As always, if you have any questions or require any clarification, please visit our website or contact our Reception Team on 01526 352411.
