How do I book with you directly?

There are a number of ways guests can book directly with us:

How far in advance can I book?

You can book your stay with us from today to one year in advance. Just call our Reservations Team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk and we will be happy to help.

How will I know my booking has been confirmed?

Booking Directly

If you book directly with us you will receive an email confirmation once you have completed your booking, detailing your reservation, date of arrival, length of stay and the cost for your stay. If you do not have an email address, we will send your confirmation to you by post.

Booking on an external website (Such as booking.com)

You will receive an email confirmation of your booking directly from the website you booked your accommodation on.

 

I haven’t received confirmation of my booking, what should I do?

Please check your spam emails. If you still have not received it, please contact reception on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk 

Do I have to give you my payment card details to confirm my booking?

We would require a note of a credit or debit card to guarantee your reservation at the time of making the booking but we do not take payment with the exception of our Advance Purchase Rates, which are prepaid at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

No charges will be incurred up to 12 noon on the day prior to arrival after which time the cost of the first night will be taken. This is with the exception of any of our Advance Purchase Rates. These are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

How do I cancel or amend a booking?

Where can I view your room rates?

How do I know I am getting the best price?

We always offer the same price as advertised online. If you would like to book with us you can do so here or call us on 01526 352411.

Are rates per person or per room?

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment via cash and all major credit and debit cards. 

Can I pay in advance or on arrival?

We are happy for you to pay either in advance or on arrival. 

I secured my booking with my credit/debit card, can I pay cash on arrival?

Guests may pay cash on arrival if they wish. Please talk to our reception team on arrival.

Can I pay on departure?

We ask that your account is settled on departure. Our Reception Team will be happy to assist you with any queries on 01526 352411

How do I make a group booking?

Making a group booking is easy. Simply call our Reservations Team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk for assistance.

Can you invoice us on departure?

In order to confirm your group booking, we need to know final numbers before you arrive and payment made in advance. If you need any assistance with your booking, please contact our Reservations Team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk 

Do you have coach parking facilities?

Yes. We have space for three coaches in our overflow car park at the hotel. If you need any assistance please call our Reception Team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk and we will be happy to help.

How do I get to the hotel?

By Road

The Petwood is situated on Stixwould Road off to the north of the B1191 running through the village of Woodhall Spa.

Our address and postcode for satellite navigation systems is: The Petwood Hotel, Stixwould Road, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, LN10 6QG

If using a satellite navigation device to find the Petwood, the following longitude and latitude coordinates may be useful:

From Lincoln city centre

Leave Lincoln on the B1188 Canwick Road for 8 miles, pick up the B1189 at Metheringham and after 3 miles pick up the B1191 sign posted for Martin and Woodhall Spa. After entering Woodhall Spa, take the 1st exit at the roundabout and take the Stixwould Road for half a mile and we can be found on the right.

By Train

The local village of Woodhall Spa is sadly no longer directly connected to London Kings Cross, thanks to Dr Beeching, but still has good connections by rail; Metheringham Station is within 9 miles from the hotel and has regular connections from Grantham and Lincoln. There is an hourly bus service (the Number 5) and taxi services are available.

By Coach

The National Express run daily coach services between London to Hull calling at Woodhall Spa village.

By Air

Humberside Airport is a 35 minute drive away.

Can I book a taxi with you?

If you require a taxi, please contact our Reception Team on 01526 352411 and we will be happy to assist you with companies local to the area.

Pre booking with the companies would be advisable

Do I have to pay to park at the hotel?

No. Car parking is complimentary for guests and visitors. Car parking is available at the front of the hotel, with a large overflow car park to the rear. 

Please note that on some larger events such as the Woodhall Spa 1940s weekend, parking is restricted to guests staying at the hotel only and parking permits will be required. These will be supplied in advance by the Reception Team.

Can I pre-book a car parking space?

Unfortunately we do not offer reserved parking at the hotel. There is a well lit car park at the front of the hotel with 62 spaces, 6 of which are for guests with mobility issues. There is also a large overflow car park for a further 140 vehicles including 3 coaches. What time can I check in?

Our earliest check in time is 3pm.  Please contact our Reservations Team on 01526 351411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk for assistance.

Can I extend my stay?

If you would like to extend your stay with us, we will happily try and accommodate you. We often have extended stay offers available on our website and these can be found here. If you would like to extend your stay and you are already at the hotel, please contact Reception and they will assist you.

What is the latest time I can check out?

We politely ask that all guests check out by 11am so that our Housekeeping Team can prepare rooms for the next arrivals. If you require a late check out, please discuss this with our Reservations Team when making your booking.

The hotel has a number of facilities for you to enjoy during your stay.

The Restaurant

Serving delicious locally-sourced food, our chefs make every meal at Petwood one to savour. From our excellent Sunday Lunch to award-winning evening dining by candlelight, residents and locals alike vouch for our credentials as one of Lincolnshire’s best foodie hotels. 

The Terrace Bar and Lounge

The perfect place for drinks, lunch or light bites, the Terrace Bar provides a relaxing popular with locals and hotel guests alike. With a wide range of food available, from toasted paninis to sausage and mash, there is something to suit every palette. You can also enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace in the summer or if it's cold, sit by the fire in our cosy lounge enjoying the atmosphere of this historic building.

The Squadron Bar

The Squadron Bar hosts a range of memorabilia and tributes to Guy Gibson VC, Leonard Cheshire VC and their Officers. Please note that the Squadron Bar is sometimes booked for private functions and may not always be available to view.

The Beauty Salon

Our resident practitioner Lisa offers a varied menu to soothe both body and mind, including massages, reflexology and many more treatments. For details of what is on offer, see our Beauty Treatments page. We also sometimes run seasonal deals and special promotions in the latest offers section.

Do you have air conditioning in rooms?

Unfortunately we do not have air conditioning in any of our rooms. However, we are able to provide fans in the summer months if required. If you require a fan for your room, please contact Reception and we will be happy to assist you.

Do you offer Wi-Fi?

Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available within the hotel for the use of guests and visitors. When you initially connect to the Petwood Hotel network you will be shown a web page asking you to accept the Terms & Conditions of use. Please note that we do not capture your information from this page. If you are having trouble connecting, please contact the Reception team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk and we will gladly assist you.

What provision do you make for people with disabilities?

We believe that the Petwood should be enjoyed by all and do our best to make sure that our facilities are available to people with disabilities or accessibility requirements. Can I bring my dog to stay with me?

We welcome responsible dog owners at the Petwood and have a number of rooms which are 'dog friendly'.  If you would like to book a dog friendly room, please contact our Reservations team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk  Please note that there is a £20 charge per night for guests wishing to bring a dog to stay with them.

What is the hotel smoking policy?

The hotel operates a no smoking policy throughout the building, including all guest bedrooms and dining areas. You may smoke outside on the terrace and in the gardens, and we would be grateful if guests would use the ash trays provided. Guests may also smoke on the terrace where ash trays are provided on some of the tables. There is also a free-standing ash tray outside the main entrace to the hotel although we would encourage guests not to congregate outside this area and smoke and instead use the terrace.

We would also ask that all guests are mindful of the habitat and wildlife when smoking in the wooded areas. In the summer months, the gardens and woodland can get very dry and the risk of fire is increased so we ask guests to ensure they do not drop cigarettes in these areas and use the ash trays provided near the main building.

We reserve the right to charge guests who do smoke in their rooms a £100 surcharge.  Thank you for you co-operation.

How can I let you know if something is wrong?

We always want to hear feedback from our guests, good or bad as it helps us improve our services and facilities. All rooms have a guest survey which we encourage guests to complete at the end of their stay. You will also receive an email from us or your booking provider shortly after your departure with an online survey to complete if you wish.

If you find anything wrong during your stay with us, please contact the Reception Team and we will do our best to resolve any issues for you. Likewise if you feel a member of the team has exceeded your expectations, please let us know!

Dining

Do you have to make a reservation to access the restaurant?

Reservations are always advisable to guarantee a table. Please call the Reservations Team on 01526 352411 to book your table.

How do I book to eat in the restaurant?

Booking a dining experience in our restaurant is simple. Call the Reception Team on 01526 352411 to let us know which date you would prefer and we will be happy to assist.

How far in advance can I book?

You may make a reservation in the restaurant up to 6o days in advance.

What is the dress code?

Restaurant

Evening dining - We want all our guests to enjoy their dining experience at the Petwood and the subject of a dress code is a tricky one. Whilst we have no formal dress code we do ask that guests dress for evening meals in the smart casual style. Dining out is often a special treat and know people often like to dress for the occassion. We therefore ask that guests refrain from wearing ripped or frayed jeans, trainers or other sports wear when dining in the restaurant in the evening.

Sunday lunch - This is a more relaxed affair and guests can wear relaxed informal attire in the restaurant.

 

Terrace Bar - We have no formal dress code in the Terrace Bar.

 

Can I book the restaurant for private use?

We offer a range of private dining expereicnes in our function rooms, please contact the Events Team on 01526 352411 or email events@petwood.co.uk for more information. You can also read more about our private dining here.

Do you welcome walk in guests?

All guests are welcome even without a reservation.

Can I reserve a window table?

We will always endeavour to honour any special requests. PLlase contact our Reservations Team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk for more information.

What is the minimum age in the restaurant

We have no minimum age in the restaurant. However, we do ask that children are supervised at all times and that respect is shown to other guests at all times.

As per licencing laws, we will also not serve alcohol to those who appear to be under the legal age limit. If there is any doubt, our Front of House will ask for identification. We do ask for your understanding on this matter.

I have special dietary requirements, what do I need to do?

We make every effort to cater for special dietary requirements. When making a reservation please discuss your requirements with us so that we are able to assist you.

Is the restaurant accessible for wheelchair users?

Our restaurant is accessible for wheelchair users, all on one level on the ground floor and is accessible via the main hotel entrance. If you have mobility issues and require assistance, please contact the Reception Team on 01526 352411 or email reception@petwood.co.uk and we will assist you.

Weddings

I am considering the Petwood as my wedding venue, can I visit the hotel and facilities?

Yes. Our knowledgeable and friendly Events Team are on hand to discuss all the requirements of your big day. From your initial visit to us to the day itself, we will help ensure that the day is one you will never forget. Please see our wedding page for more information.

Who do we need to contact to arrange to get married at The Petwood?

Once you have chosen your date you will need to check the availability of the Registrar and your eligibility for a Civil Partnership or Marriage. You can provisionally book your ceremony 2 years in advance and give Notice of Marriage one year in advance, by contacting Lincolnshire Registrars on 01522 782244 or regist:lincolnshire.gov.uk.

Please note all fees for conducting the ceremony will need to be paid directly to the registrar.We are happy to hold your chosen date for 10 days whilst you confirm the availability of the Registrars.

Is there any charge to hold the Ceremony at the Petwood?

Yes, a room hire charge will be made for the Ceremony Room. Please contact our team on 015626 352411 or email events@petwood.co.uk 

What are the prices for children

Children under 1 are free of charge, children under the age of 12 are able to have a children’s wedding package. However, if they wish to have the same menu as the adults this is charged at full price. Please contact our events team on 01526 352411 or email events@petwood.co.uk for details.

How many wedding guests can you cater for?

Our Garden Room can accommodate a maximum of 30 guests.

The Petwood Suite can accommodate a maximum of 80 for of a sit down reception and 120 guests for an evening buffet.

The Woodland Suite can accommodate a maximum of 140 guests for a sit down reception and 200 for an evening buffet.

Do you offer outdoor weddings?

Yes. The grounds of the hotel make for a beautful setting for an outdoor wedding and are available from April until the end of September. To discuss your exact requirements please contact our Events Team on 01526 351411 or email events@petwood.co.uk 

Are there any restrictions with outdoor weddings?

We can accommodate most requests for outdoor weddings. However, we do ask that guests do not throw paper or synthetic confetti in the gardens. We also ask that guests do not use Chinese paper lanterns due to the fire risk and the danger they pose to wildlife in the local areas. Can we have fireworks or Chinese lanterns

Fireworks are allowed for Weddings on a Friday or Saturday, although these must be booked though our preferred supplier, no other firework provider will be allowed.

What catering options are available?

Our range of wedding packages is designed to suit all requirements and budgets. We can arrange a number of catering options from a formal sit down dinner to a buffet. Please contact our Events Team for more details on 01526 351411 or email events@petwood.co.uk  

Do I have to use your suppliers for my floral arrangements?

Flower arrangements are included in your package. However, you are welcome to use your own supplier should you wish. To discuss your exact requirements, please contact our Events team on events@petwood.co.uk or call 01526 352411 and we will be happy to help.

Are there photo opportunities inside if there is inclement weather?

Yes, there are plenty of picture opportunities inside, from the spectacular carved staircase, to the less elaborate but equally beautiful, white staircase and, subject to availability, our Squadron Bar.

What time will the celebrations end?

Last orders will be called at the Bar at 12am (Friday & Saturday) with all entertainment to finish by 12.30am. Residents will have used of the Terrace Bar after this time if required.

Conference Guests

What is your delegate rate?

As we customise your conference or event to suit your specific requirements, we do not have a set delegate rate.  We will calculate your rate according to your event after discussion with you. Is VAT included in my quote?

Yes. When you receive your quote from us it will include all charges and have VAT amounts supplied.

How many delegates do you cater for?

The number of delegates we can cater for depends on the layout and type of room you have chosen for your event or conference. Please contact our Conference and Events team on events@petwood.co.uk or call 01526 352411 for more information and to discuss your requirements.

What facilities are available for conferences?

At the Petwood we have a number of different rooms and suites to accommodate your conference or function. Whether you require a large theatre style layout with presentation facilities or a more informal meeting room, we can accommodate you. Facilities include:

  • Refreshments (From buffet to fine dining depending on requirements)

What refreshment options are available?

How do I book an event?

Our Events Team are experts in delivering a wide range of events from birthday celebrations to social evenings and can tailor most packages to fit your requirements. Some of the events we have hosted include:

Can we have a choice menu?

Choice Menus are available and are dependent on the number of guests attending the event. We will discuss this with you at the time of booking your event.

Can I arrange my own catering?

You may bring items such as wedding or birthday cakes to your event. However we do not allow catering vans or outside catering companies. To discuss your particular requirements please contact our Events Team on 01526 352411 or email events@petwood.co.uk 

Can I have a late bar extension?

Late bar extensions for events are possible and will be costed in your quote. If you require a late bar extension please contact the Events Team on 01526 352411 or email events@petwood.co.uk 

Can I have a live band?

You may have a live band at your event at the discretion of the General Manager. All equipment used will need to be PAT tested prior to being used on the premises. To arrange this please contact the Events Team on 01526 352411 or email events@petwood.co.uk 

What events are coming up at the hotel?

We often host events at the hotel throughout the year ranging from outdoor theatre to inside dining experiences.
